Clapham Village Fete

claphamvillage-feteIf you’re in South London on Saturday 3rd September you might like to come along to the Clapham Village Fete, at The Polygon, Clapham Old Town, SW4.  Just opposite Clapham Fire Station.

Clapham Writers will be there at the Clapham Writers stall, with books to sell and sign. We’re not sure exactly who’ll be attending, but you may meet  Bobbie Darbyshire, J.J. Anderson, John Taylor and Elizabeth Buchan and any others who happen along to the CW stall ( we live and work in Clapham ). So come along and see.  All of us are happy to discuss our books.

The event begins at 12.00 noon and there will be music, animals from Vauxhall City Farm, sack races, cake decorating, egg and spoon races and everything you would expect to find at an old fashioned village fete, plus a few things that you wouldn’t. There will also be a Fire Engine display to celebrate 150 years of the London Fire Brigade. There will be plenty of food stalls, as well as the restaurants, cafes and pubs in the Old Town, along The Pavement and Venn Street, or bring a picnic for on the Common nearby. Events go on until 6 p.m..

The nearest underground station is Clapham Common (Northern Line). Parking is not available at the Polygon open space, but can be found nearby. For more information visit thisisclapham or follow #claphamvillagefete on Twitter.

Partners in this event are the Clapham Business Improvement District, the London Fire Brigade, Omnibus Arts Centre, the Clapham Society, Clapham Writers.
